1. How do you drink your coffee?

Only rarely! I mostly feel stressed and exhilarated when I drink coffee. If I feel like having one, it’s a cappuccino with oat milk.

2. What has been your most exciting project at jambit so far?

My recent project is great, because I’ve been able to make the biggest impact on it up to now. I can experiment a lot and have lots of responsibility. We support a fashion company to program their app for the online shop and create a transition to a native app. The different usability and user experience concepts are especially interesting for me. You receive for example a haptic message on the iPhone, if you add a product to the cart. I’m very excited to develop this.

3. Which series should everyone watch at least once?

Definitely the Avatar series "The Last Airbender": It's my favorite and the most genius series, which has ever been produced. I especially like the depth of the characters and the values, which are conveyed through the story. The series was originally made for children, and it was available on Nickelodeon. In the meantime, you can also watch it on Netflix and at least once a year, my girlfriend and I binge-watch it together.

4. Where can people find you when you're not working?

Probably in the kitchen. I’m baking and cooking a lot – especially bread! I breed my own sourdough and I even developed an own app for it. At the beginning of the pandemic, I wanted to use my extra time in a senseful way and programmed my own app. I’m planning the different steps with it, from acidification to baking. Back then, I often had to wake up at 4:00 a.m., because it was time to knead my dough. This app prevents such night adventures and exactly calculates when you take which step. For all the other sourdough gurus: you can buy the app breadme in the AppStore.

5. Which tip would you give your former self?

I can only give the following advice: Rely on your gut feeling to achieving your goals even better. If it feels good, it’s also the best decision in that moment – and that’s exactly what it’s about. I experienced that myself: Three years ago, I relied on my gut feeling and stopped my studies after several failed exams. I still think that it was the right decision – that’s also how I found my way to jambit. Luckily, I got the chance to prove the knowledge from my studies and to use my passion for programming during the application process. Afterwards they offered me a job and now I’m sitting here in this interview.

6. You will soon change your contract into a remote one. Why?

Exactly! Me and my girlfriend are moving closer to my hometown Miltenberg in two weeks. Simultaneously to the decision about moving, jambit announced that there’s going to be a possibility to work fully remote in the future. Perfect timing! I’m so happy that I don’t have to change my job and that I can stay part of the jambit family.
