VanQuality App for Mercedes

Quality management via smartphone app

In cooperation with jambit, Mercedes Benz Vanz has developed a new internal quality management system. With the VanQuality App, company car drivers of Mercedes can give feedback about their cars to the quality department easily and quickly. Thus, they can for example point out deficiencies and problems or can contribute own ideas and suggestions for improvement.

jambit has been involved in the project right from the beginning: from concept and UX design over the development of an iOS prototype for the pilot phase up to the final implementation of a hybrid smartphone app. The app was developed in TypeScript with the Ionic2 framework and is compatible with iOS, Android and Windows Phone 10.

Furthermore, a responsive web application has been developed. It enables the quality department to manage submitted incidents and ideas and to communicate with the drivers. Moreover, the interface serves for the administration of the system with diverse user groups and model series. The web application was developed with HTML5/JavaScript and React.

As basis for the whole system, a central backend application has been developed in JavaScript with node.js. The smartphone app as well as the web application communicate with this backend.
