Connected digital services facilitate route and appointment planning
This month, BMW has launched a new app in Germany and 17 other countries: BMW Connected. The app serves as personal assistant with the daily planning of driving routes and appointments.
BMW Connected connects various digital services such as smartphone calendar, address book, traffic information provided by the Open Mobility Cloud, and the car’s navigation system. Among other things, users get information about optimal driving routes and departure times, can send automatically generated messages in case of delays and can control vehicle functions via smartphone.
jambit has supported BMW with the app development with two teams. The focus of the joint work was on the remote services of the app. They enable users, for example, to (un-)lock the car’s doors and windows, to activate the horn or to time the air-conditioning in advance.
The app can be used in all BMW models with the special equipment „ConnectedDrive Services”. It is available for free in the Apple App Store.
