jambit CoffeeTalks I / 2021

Our first jambit CoffeeTalks of the year will take place on March 19, 2021. As series of events for jambitees and guests, the CoffeeTalks offer know-how around software development and related topics. They are a building block of our top-of-mind knowledge culture and are part of the attractive offer for individual personnel development of jambit's software developers, along with Vertrauenslernzeit and other building blocks.

At our first CoffeeTalks in 2021, guests and jambitees can look forward to objective and high-quality talks on self-organization, cutover, and green IT.

Program of our jambit CoffeeTalks I / 2021

HR goes S3: A story of domains and responsibilities

1 1:45 p.m.: Alexandra Mächtel, CHRO at jambit

"Sociocracy 3.0", or S3, is an approach in organizational development to promote self-organization. S3 has entered jambit for some time now and also found its way into HR. From the first "domain canvas" via "delegation game" at the jupdays 2020 to "domain profiles" and "domain hierarchies" identified in jambit style to "role selections" and "domain wall": Alexandra Mächtel, CHRO at jambit, will take participants on the initial stage of the journey towards (more) agile organization, which the HR team has experienced over the past year. No prior knowledge or experience with Sociocracy 3.0 is required. The CoffeeTalk aims to encourage people to experiment with S3 in their own work environment. Participants will get to know the most important S3 patterns around domains and first learnings from the implementation at jambit.

Cutover – The supreme discipline of system implementations

2 2:45 p.m.: Matthias Mair, Senior Software Architect, Business Division Banking & Insurance

Cutover describes the holistic view of the migration from legacy to new system. In his presentation, Matthias Mair will first approach the concept of cutover. He will present use cases, such as the replacement of a core banking system or the introduction of SAP, and will describe the challenges of a cutover. In the CoffeeTalk, participants will also receive answers to the following questions: What should be considered when planning a cutover? Why are final rehearsals so important? What is a control room? When and what is the go or no-go decision? How do I monitor and control a cutover and which tools can support? Matthias Mair works as a Senior Software Architect at jambit in Munich and supports companies in the field of banking & finance in their digital transformation. This presentation is aimed at all project managers, migration, live installation, and operations managers with an interest in professional system implementation.

Green IT - How to classify resource efficiency of software?

3:15 – 4:15 p.m.: Patrick Hiesinger, Software Engineer, Office Leipzig

Global aviation or the freezer at home, which is way too old. We often associate intensive resource consumption with other topics than the actual immaterial software. But software and other applications also generate massive energy and resource consumption. Patrick Hiesinger is a software engineer at jambit in Leipzig and deals with Green IT. In his presentation, he will discuss a recent study by the German Federal Environment Agency. Their IT experts have been studying the impact of software on the environment for several years. Patrick will focus on the topic of resource-efficient software and present the evaluation basis for software products listed in the study to be able to better classify and evaluate environmental criteria for software. What about the resource consumption of word processors, browsers, and content management systems, for example? And what role does the "Blue Angel" label play for software products?
