Programming Languages

Java

In many sectors the programming language Java evolved into the industrial standard. At jambit we have a proven track record for Java in the field of medium and large e-Business applications. This also holds true for web applications and the development of innovative research prototypes. The line up of frameworks and technologies we can apply and are proficient in, is very comprehensive. As a result, for every project we have the appropriate tool at hand.

C

For hardware related programs and operating systems as well as for the implementation of real time and embedded systems the straightforward and high-performance (but nevertheless portable) language C is recommended and used.

C++

C++ is indeed a syntactical extension of C and is often used as such. However we attach importance to play on the full scale of the expressiveness and potential from the object oriented approach provided by C++. Another aspect for the usage of this language at jambit is to connect hardware related parts of a system developed in C. Projects from the e-Government and automotive sector are successfully implemented by us in C++.

Machine related languages

Even when machine languages like diverse assemblers and VHDL are only remaining in some niches, we are still in touch due to our projects in the automotive environment. This happens basically when operating system drivers are to be improved and adapted.

Scripting Languages

In the long history of scripting languages often fascinating and auxiliary tools were added which we consistently use for different purposes. Therefore especially automated activities for server controlling and maintenance as well as build and test processes have to be mentioned. Of course another major aspect as a web language for developing small and medium web applications and prototyping.

jambit is going strong with Ruby, Perl, Python, sed&awk, Tcl/Tk, lex/yacc, PHP and ReXX.

VBA

Next to the classical programming languages, scripting languages for office-suits adopt an exceptional position. For small office macros and templates we apply VBA and OpenOffice Basic as well as BeanShell for the office-suits of Microsoft and OpenOffice.org. For the functionality of larger macros we recommend and use web applications with the intent to be independent from the frequent changes within Office.

.NET und ASP.NET

For homogeneous Windows environments the .NET framework is a logical choice.  Due to the support of the extensive libraries offered by the framework, it is therefore possible to develop large scale  applications rapidly with any programming language. (C# in this context to be mentioned as the most common one). The close connection to Windows is an early decision which can hardly be revoked later within the project.

Ruby on Rails

Right in the fast development of Web 2.0 applications programming languages and frameworks like Ruby on Rails are a good choice, as they function intuitively.

PHP

As a classic amongst dynamic web sites the PHP family of languages can't be missing in our portfolio. Hereby large and reliable applications can be implemented as well, by now even object oriented. A popular approach is the LAMP technology stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).
